Abstract

This article has as its main objective a brief literary analysis of the short story Negrinha by Monteiro Lobato, considering the historical context and social criticism presents in this work. Through this focus and from the characters that make up the profile of the protagonists of the text by Lobato, can be observed the prejudiced and oppressive mentality of the Brazilian society of a certain time. However, the predicates conferred these lobatianos fictional beings always highlight the current quest for power in which the presence of class struggles and confrontations between races are crucial to establishing the social condition of human beings.
